A painting I've been working on for years (at least 5 years), with many changes. I finally 'figured it out' and finished it a couple months ago. The model was a random fellow I photographed surreptitiously while on vacation in San Francisco way back when. Photos were consulted for the veiltail goldfish, but I created the poses myself and only checked images for anatomical details.
The title, which was suggested by a good friend, explains the message.
Also, mad respect for painters who can paint fancy prints and patterns on folded fabrics. Those simple stripes drove me nuts.
