Phantom of the Paradise

In this piece I was going for a very nuanced, subtle look that would convey the tragedy of the Phantom's emotional anguish and pain.

Yeah. Right.

So it's Winslow Leach, aka - The Phantom of the Paradise - in all his 70's, rock n' roll glam rock attire. That film, if you haven't seen it, is bold, dated, cheesy, and majorly disorienting. Still, underneath it all are a couple of nice songs, and c'mon - you HAVE to love how outlandish and outrageous the Phantom is (despite his sleazy name) - I mean, he even wears black lipstick and eyeliner! I also swear he's the progenitor of Darth Vader *electronic breathing/voicebox fizzle*

Apologies for the light glare; photographing paintings is a pain. And the hot rod flames? It was the 70's - had to keep up the spirit of the work, you know!
