A Phantom in Uniform v2.0

Description

My entry for the :iconphantom-of-da-opera: contest with the theme of Phantom of the Opera characters in historical costume or costumes from other musicals - I went with historical. ;)

This is a decided redo of an earlier drawing of mine, with a bit more emphasis on historical accuracy in the details of the uniform (Based on a Nazi SS officer's, of course). The cape, of course, was added by me since you simply can't have Erik without a cape!

Regarding the wings, I was thinking along the lines of the fact that in the original Phantom story, Erik masquerades as an angel to conceal his true nature. Thus, having this version of Erik standing in front of the Nazi eagle emblem, thus giving him the illusion of wings while concealing the swastika held by the eagle, was a visual metaphor for his deception.

Oh yeah, for those who didn't see my previous incarnation:

Nazi Erik looks very stylish and dashing in an intimidating way. I do not agree with what the Nazi regime did, but I have to admit they had awesome uniforms! Yes, Erik would not be Erik without a cape.
